Donald Westphal is a Landscape Architect and Site Planner from Rochester, Michigan specializing in manufactured housing community design. Don received his Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from Michigan State University and his Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Illinois.
In more than forty-five years of manufactured housing community design he has participated in the planning of more than 400,000 individual lots in nearly 450 communities.
Developments planned by the firm have won seven of the Community of the Year awards at the National Manufactured Housing Congress in Las Vegas. Don was recently inducted into the RV/MH Heritage Foundation, Inc. Hall of Fame. He has written numerous articles on planning and imaging for trade journals and is a regular speaker at seminars nationwide. Don is co-author of the books Navigating the Manufactured Housing Zoning Process, and Renewing Your Manufactured Home Community.
Don is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Manufactured Housing Educational Institute, and serves on the Ordinance Review Committee of the Michigan Manufactured Housing Commission. In the past year he received the M.H.I. Accredited Community Manager designation and became a National Association of Home Builders "Green Verifier".
